Ensuring small government and fiscal responsibility.

As the businessman in the race for District 1, I know what it takes to balance a budget, make payroll, and save for a rainy day. I’ll work through the budget, with other city councilmembers, to look for inefficiencies and savings – without cutting services we love in Provo.

Stopping the apartment building sprawl.

We are overbuilding apartments, we need more owner-occupied housing and neighborhoods.  I would vote against the acceleration of high-density rentals that will change the character of Provo.

Protecting our neighborhoods.

In Provo we have unique neighborhoods, we need to make sure every neighborhood speaks for itself and is heard. Our “Neighborhood Program” is a valuable part of neighbors coming together to discuss issues.  I will work to give neighborhoods back the right to vote for their Neighborhood Representatives. 

Supporting our public safety officers.

Safe and secure neighborhoods are a top priority.  I will never support defunding the police. We need to make sure we can attract and retain the police and firefighters that provide our safety.

Protecting the vision of Provo.

Ensure out General Plan reflects the shared values of our community. I will work to keep government small, accountable and transparent to the public.
